Hi Carrissa - This is Wendy (Bennett) Wells. Cute blog! I've enjoyed seeing pictures of your little girl! I just had to tell you that after looking at your blog I went to Arielle's, and then one of her friends that I thought I knew, but didn't. Then I clicked on that friend's blog list and found a friend of mine in my ward! Small world.
Hi Carrissa! The last time I saw you, we were both pregnant at conference. :) It's so fun to see your little girl. My daughter, Ginger just turned one in December too. Shanna is so cute. I love the color of her hair.
Carrissa--Love your digi scrapping! Those are so cute. Where did you get the filmstrip? I really like the pink and brown one too. I hope you don't mind if I use some of your cute ideas. I'm always looking for something new to try. LOVE IT!! Oh, Winkflash is having another $20 book deal. It's a little bit smaller--8x10, but you can still get up to 100 pages. It ends Jan. 29th. Wish I was closer to done, so I could print another one.
Quote: "Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you're up to."
Shanna -- Wild One
Age: 4 years!
Nicknames: Goose, Shanna banana, Shannaroo
What does Shanna say now?
"Could you get chicken nunnets from the freezerater?"
In our home we try to help Shanna not say words like stupid, dumb, or substitute words like "dang it". Well one night Eric was helping her pray before bed and he said, "Please help me to make good choices." and Shanna repeated it and promptly punched her pillow and said, "dang it."
"Ring around the rosies, pockalittledoodoo, ashes, ashes we all fall down."
Shanna: "Oh you have a pretty hair thing mommy?" (pointing to the flower clip in my hair)
Me: "Yes I do, do you like it?"
Shanna: "Yes! Daddy will come home and he will dance with you!"
Shanna had to go potty at Grandma's house one day and so she said, "Grandma, you stay here, I will be right back." Grandma said, "Ok I will sit on my blue chair." When Shanna was done, Grandma said, "Now I need to go potty." Shanna said, "Ok I will sit in your blue chair." When Grandma came out she looked over at Shanna and saw that she was seated in her blue chair with her blanket draped over her knees exactly the way Grandma often placed it, had Grandma's glasses on her face and was carefully turning the pages of Grandma's school textbook. She often found Grandma in this exact position.
"Look at my eyes!" (This is usually said when either Eric or I aren't paying attention to what she is saying.)
First Prayer: "Heavenly Father, thank you for this day, thank you for the blessings, thank you for the prophet, thank you for the food and the apples, Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
"Thats so embarrassing, all the time!"
(Said as we turn onto Grandma and Grandpa Merrill's street) "There's Grandma's house! My sweet little Grandma. She is such a sweet girl!"
"Come here my little daddy."
"This is reedy reedy good Mommy!"
One day I was drawing on the chalkboard some stick figures of grandma and grandpa. I drew a triangle shape for grandma's dress and Shanna turns to me and says,
Shanna: "Oh mommy is that her bib?"
Me: "No Shanna, thats her dress."
Shanna: "Oh! Thats her pretty dress so all her dreams can come true?!"
"Ummmm...Kinda yeah.." (Said with head tilted and eyes to the side)
"Look, I am kinda like a princess."
"My eyes aren't working!" (Said when she's been crying and her eyes are filled with tears so that she can't see anything)
"I am so proud of you" (This is usually said when we do something she is really happy with, Ex: take her to the park.)
Lindey -- small headed child
19 months!
Nicknames: goose, LindeyLoo
Waves and says "Hi" and "Bye"
When a lot of people are laughing she will start to laugh a long with everyone
She loves her big sister and will laugh at anything Shanna does
Shes a mommas girl
LOVES baby dolls and gets very, very excited about them when she sees them.
When she sees sher coat she gets really excited and starts saying, "oh, oh, oh!" :)
She has an opinion about everything and will not budge if she has made up her mind. If she sees something she likes she will take it, even though another person might have had it first. She is also very very intense when it comes to just about everything!
